Team Member Testimonial – Returning to My Passion for Senior Living

My journey in senior living began 25 years ago as a newly graduated nurse. From the start, my goal was to provide compassionate care and advocate for those in need. This passion led me to work as a pediatric home health and multi-specialty clinic nurse for many years. After taking time off to be a stay-at-home mom with my two teen daughters, I felt it was time to return to my true calling and passion — senior living. That’s when I accepted the position of Director of Clinical Services at The Legacy of Hartsville.

This role has reinforced the critical importance of empathy and clear communication. By understanding the unique challenges faced by our clinical team members, I’m better equipped to support them, ensuring everyone feels heard and valued. Whether managing crises or simply working day-to-day, fostering this environment helps us build a resilient, motivated team, all committed to providing the highest level of care.

My transition from Director of Clinical Services to Executive Director has been incredibly fulfilling, and I’m grateful for the trust and confidence that the Navion leadership team has shown me. Their support has not only helped me grow professionally, but it has also strengthened my resolve to create a positive culture for our entire team.

Navion Senior Living’s mission to foster a positive, growth-oriented workplace has been key to my professional development. The company’s commitment to valuing, supporting and empowering team members has allowed me to thrive and progress in my career. Through continuous learning opportunities, I’ve been able to expand my skills, embrace new challenges and ultimately enhance the quality of care we provide for our residents.
