I originally moved to Boone, North Carolina as a college student, far from my friends and family. Finding my way as a caregiver and med tech at Deerfield Ridge, I quickly discovered a sense of belonging—a supportive team and a vibrant, welcoming community. Even during the busy holiday season, working extra hours felt less like a burden and more like a privilege to contribute to something meaningful. Deerfield Ridge truly became my home away from home.
 
After three fulfilling years, I made the difficult decision to step away to focus on my marriage and education, but the community always remained close to my heart. I frequently visited and was warmly greeted by the team. One of my colleagues always had a prediction for me: “You’ll be back!” While it wasn’t possible at the time, the opportunity eventually presented itself.
 
A year later, I was contacted about an opening—but it wasn’t in the role I had once held. This time, they were seeking a Director of Sales and Marketing. Although I had a marketing background, the position was entirely new to me. Still, the familiarity I had with the management team and the organization gave me confidence. I knew if I was going to take this step, I was in the right place and with the right people to guide me through it.
 
Joining Navion Senior Solutions in this capacity has been an incredibly rewarding journey. This role is more than just sales—it’s about connecting with people, understanding their stories, and offering them care with empathy and compassion. My experience as a caregiver has been invaluable, giving me insights into the challenges our residents and their families face. Every day, I witness the joy and relief our services bring, not just to our residents but to their loved ones as well.
