Eleven years ago, I found myself embarking on an unexpected journey when I joined the sales team at an assisted living community in Boone, NC. It was a leap into the unknown as I had no prior experience in sales or healthcare. Hired as the Sales and Marketing Director at Deerfield Ridge Assisted Living, I quickly realized that this role was far from traditional sales; it was about addressing genuine needs and making meaningful connections. 

As I engaged with potential residents and their families, my focus shifted from “selling” to truly listening to their stories and understanding their unique situations. I discovered that my purpose was to help guide them toward the right solutions. It became clear to me that providing support and compassion was the most important aspect of my role. Even when someone didn’t require our services, I was dedicated to helping them find the right path. 

In May 2022, I transferred to our sister community, Preston House Memory Care in Charlotte, marking a pivotal moment in my professional growth. This change was inspired by the trust Navion placed in me, allowing me to serve a larger area and reinforcing my commitment to being a supportive and empathetic resource for families and individuals in need. 

Recently, I accepted the role of Area Sales Director in Charlotte, following Navion’s acquisition of Northlake House Memory Care. I am so proud to help families at Preston House and Northlake House when they contact me. Supporting two memory care communities enables me to greatly expand my ability to assist families who are navigating the complexities of caregiving. I view this as a privilege and am deeply committed to guiding each family toward the best solutions for their unique circumstances. To make a meaningful impact in the lives of so many is incredibly fulfilling, and I am grateful for the continued opportunity to grow and learn alongside them.

The support and leadership of those I work with at Navion have been a blessing in my life. Each day, I’m reminded of how fortunate I am to be surrounded by such a dedicated and compassionate team. Their guidance and encouragement have not only helped me grow professionally but have also enriched my ability to connect with and support the families we serve. I have made many wonderful friends along the way, both team members and people I have helped. Every day that I can make a difference in people’s lives is a gift that I treasure deeply. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that together, we are making meaningful impacts in the lives of those who need it most. This experience has not only shaped my professional life but has deepened my understanding of the importance of empathy and connection in every interaction. I feel privileged to be part of such an impactful journey in the lives of others. I am proud to be part of a team that appreciates the love I have for my work and believes in me.
